The Team
Tyler Brownell - Tyler is our main handyman at Hawthorn. He found his love for horses through Kira in 2014. He is constantly learning more and wants to continues his horsemanship journey with the people at Hawthorn ranch. He works here part-time and can be found around the property: feeding, fixing fences, and giving love to every animal on the ranch.
Ellee Teeples - Assitant Trainer and Ranch Hand, Ellee has been at Hawthorn since 2019 and started working with Kira shortly after. Ellee works at the ranch full-time. Ellee rides english and western and enjoys working with all the different horses and people.
Riki Merrick - Ranch Owner, Riki has been riding since she was a child, but didn’t get to do it regularly until Kira started riding. She will be on the property working, riding Monte, or playing with her granddaughters.
Kira Brownell - Barn manager and trainer out at Hawthorn. Kira has been around horses since she was 7 years old. She has owned, trained, and shown her own (and others') horses since 2002. Kira gives Western or English riding lessons for beginners or intermediate riders. She is the main contact for anything horse care related.
